By: Sebastopol Center For The Arts On Thursday August 1 at 6pm the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, (282 South High Street in Sebastopol, CA) will unveil its most popular show in its twenty five year history, Not Just Landscapes . The exhibition features artwork in all media reflecting a large variety of scenery –– more personal and imaginary visions. This show had over 550 entries that came from across the country. In a blur of activity many members of the Sebastopol Center for the Arts visual arts committee, and juror Mark Perlman spent two days reviewing and selecting the show. This show had more entries than any show in the center’ Although highly competitive, the result is a spectacular show that will feature 71 pieces. Professor Perlman reflected, "I sincerely felt there was a great diversity of works submitted for this particular juried exhibition. Many of the submissions demonstrated both skill and concept which should make for an inclusive representation of several styles of work being produced today." “I think it is absolutely wonderful that so many people entered and wanted to be a part of the exciting growth of our gallery programs. I feel very privileged to continue seeing such high standards of quality pieces entering our shows,” Catherine Devriese, Visual Arts Program Manager at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. Summer is the time for travelling but even if you are only travelling as far as Sebastopol this year, come to be inspired and transported from place to place in this amazing show.
