YEOVIL, U.K. - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Dominic Irons, director of the family owned and run stationery retailer 'Bureau Direct' based in London, tells of his move to Liquidshop and his experiences so far.
Dominic discovered Liquidshop at a trade show at Earls Court in Autumn 2010; at the time they were actively seeking to replace a dated ecommerce solution that they'd used since 2003. Dominic says, "Our existing system was fast becoming out-of-date with limited functionality, and reliability issues. Most worryingly it had begun to give us cause for concern in respect to how secure and stable it was, and the company behind the product offered little or no support or any sign of development."

Having carried out research into various ecommerce solutions, Bureau Direct judged that Liquidshop suited their particular needs the best. They wanted to move quickly to a new system that could handle existing products and functionality, meaning that they could carry on trading with no loss of service, whilst allowing for improved functionality going forward once they had the website up and running. Most importantly for Dominic, Liquidshop came in at a budget that was realistic for them at the time, albeit with slightly higher on-going monthly charge but a low entry cost to set it up.

Liquidshop provides Bureau Direct with a comprehensive package, combining what they already had with a lot of new features and functionality that they didn't. Dominic says, "Liquidshop also puts a lot of focus on the on-going relationship, support, development and a user-community, which gave us confidence in choosing the system."

Dominic continues, "I firmly believe that the main requirement for any system is to be there, to make life easier and to be so much a part of your daily routine that you don't even notice that it's there. Once you start noticing it, the chances are that's because it's in the way rather than helping you."

Having been with Liquidshop for almost two years the Bureau Direct team find the system easy to use; it employs logical visual icons to allow you to turn something on/off and make changes. "Being able to send emails from within the order system as well as the ability to send template emails to update customers is a massive time saver for us." adds Dominic.

Bureau Direct have also found the simple staged order processing a particularly useful feature of Liquidshop as it matches their own physical process for handling orders. Dominic says "We move our orders from stage-to-stage (from open to processing, to awaiting despatch and then on to completed) and use this to cross-check against the actual orders being processed. There's also a simple re-ship function which means we can re-send errors or missing orders very easily."

Automated review emails and customer feedback functionality has helped the online store achieve well over 1,000 reviews without having to do anything more than read and approve them, and this has helped to strengthen their ongoing marketing, as well as helping to persuade customers to purchase their products.

Dominic says, "The ongoing support, which was a deciding factor in choosing Liquidshop, is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Most issues are dealt with there and then and any others are resolved through later fixes. The Uservoice forum, combined with the ongoing feature development programme, instills great confidence for the future and makes us feel that we're part of a community of users."

In general, Dominic and his team have found that Liquidshop allows them to work with less 'system interference'. "It's a robust platform that does a very good all-round job of e-commerce, letting us get on with what we should be doing - taking orders, processing them and sending them out, as well as providing customer service and marketing our business", adds Dominic.

Liquidshop has become an integral part of the Bureau Direct business, and has helped them to achieve a significant increase in sales. Finally, Dominic adds, "Our customers seem very happy with our new website, providing us with positive feedback, and we have already recommended Liquidshop several times."
