Putting “Best” to the Test

July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- We live in a lazy society. People drive everywhere, opt for elevators instead of stairs and work out on average only one hour a week. This lethargy extends beyond the physical. It’s also what prevents us from having the courage to leave toxic relationships or soul-crushing jobs. It’s what stands in the way of us living up to our full potential and being truly fulfilled.

Ryan Malfara wants to change that. And he knows it’s possible; after all, he’s living proof. Having led his team to victory in the Polar Race – the world’s toughest competition spanning a grueling 650+ kilometers over sea ice and arctic islands in temperatures as low as -100 – he knows what it takes to see things through.

On day 26, the final day of the race – despite his severely blistered feet and the excruciating pain that overtook his body – he managed to surpass the expectations of his coach by not only completing a record 20miles (which he hadn’t yet done), but 30.In the end, a mere three hours is what propelled him to first place – all because of his unfaltering commitment to just go for it.

“Decide what it is you really want and be as clear about your vision as possible” he advises his students. Open that dream business within the next year. Lose the 20lbs. that’s preventing you from being at a healthy body weight. Or in Ryan’s case, complete a race most people couldn’t survive, never mind win.

Making a commitment is one thing, but doing whatever it takes to see that through is quite another. The latter involves the following:

•Hiring a coach so you can receive the right guidance and support. Their job is to help you every step of the way and make sure you stay on course. They will have done what you want to do and will dispense invaluable advice on your journey to success.

•According to Ryan, the majority of people try to muscle their way through the brick walls that prevent them from reaching their goals. Smart people, however, take a different approach. They save time, energy and loads of unnecessary frustration by hire someone to teach them what bricks to pull out, so the wall won’t crumble and they can simply step through to the other side.

•Thinking like a CEO, not an employee. This means understanding that the present and future are what matter. The past is irrelevant. If you don’t believe that consider Ryan’s story: he went from being a high school dropout to a renowned business coach & public speaker who now earns more in a year than many do in their lifetime.

•Spending your time wisely by doing what you’re good at and outsourcing the rest. Although your first inclination might be “I can’t afford that,” the exact opposite is true. What you can’t afford is not to do what you excel at. Spending an entire day doing what someone else could probably accomplish in an hour will only hold you back.

Such is the case for Ryan with regards to paperwork. That’s why he has a bookkeeper. This frees up the time he’d need to spend on menial tasks like reconciling credit card statements and allows him to focus on helping businesses( http://ryanmalfara.com/contact ) increase their bottom line.
