Studio RED Architects Designs Woodlands Church East Campus in Atascocita

HOUSTON - July 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Woodlands Church East Campus in Atascocita — Construction continues for the east campus of the Woodlands Church in Atascocita, as the Woodlands Church community looks forward to a new worship facility that will extend their ministry into the Humble community. The design, completed by Studio RED Architects in August of 2012, includes 32,700 square feet that will house three worship assembly spaces for adults, youth, and children's ministries, classrooms for nursery and elementary kids, and supporting offices, restrooms, and storage areas.     The new worship facility design offers modern functionality and flexible space while drawing on the picturesque surroundings of its heavily wooded area.    “It was important to preserve as much of the natural landscape as possible,” said Trung Doan, Studio RED Partner in Charge and Lead Designer. “This sets up a sense of arrival as you enter the church campus, which is consistent with the overall planning of the main campus.”    Continued Involvement   While construction got underway earlier this year, Studio RED has continued their involvement in the project, helping to keep it running smoothly and within the church’s budget. The east campus is one of several locations that the church has planned. “The intent of the Woodlands Church is to eventually have multiple campuses of similar size, 32-35,000 square feet,” noted Trung Doan. “The Atascocita campus is a prototype which can efficiently serve up to 5,000 church members every weekend. The campus plan and building design have similar design elements and material palette as the main campus to provide a consistant  identity.
