CARDIFF, Wales - July 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Cardiff July 2013: Cardiff-basedTelluric Land Remediation has launched a new bioremediation product designed specifically for use with soil and groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents and certain other contaminants including pesticides, nitroaromatics and oxidised heavy metals. Based on emulsified vegetable oil technology, DCL Biosolv also contains other unique key ingredients and because it uses food grade components it provides a more sustainable and environmentally friendly solution at a cost effective price.

Telluric Land Remediation is the only UK Company manufacturing a product based on this technology.

DCL Biosolv has been developed through an extensive R&D process supported by Welsh Government funding in response to the need for a sustainable, biological remediation solution for sites contaminated with chlorinated solvents. Current solutions are either energy-intensive or involve injecting potentially hazardous chemicals into the ground. Chlorinated solvent contamination is commonly found on former industrial sites in the UK and is known to be highly toxic to human health and the wider environment.

Technical director, Mike Holroyd, said: “the unique formulation of DCL Biosolv allows the product to be physically and microbiologically stable at ambient temperatures.  Our product is easy to handle, contains no chemical stabilisers and does not require sterile packaging or pasteurisation”.

The advantages of DCL Biosolv include:

• Cost effective

• Safe and easy to handle

• No above ground remediation equipment

• Uses low cost, readily available ingredients from food industry

• Low operational and maintenance costs

• Long lasting in-situ treatment

• Energy efficient
