The two-day festival features: the tasty Brooklyn twang of the Defibulators; the tri-state area’s premier Country/Rock band Six Gun; the ever-popular Long Island country music act, The Grand Central; tribute band Street Survivors (often performing with original Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer, Artimus Pyle); the Queen of Long Island country music, Mary Lamont; Johnny Cash tribute band Walking the Line; Long Island’ “We are thrilled to bring together great Country music bands from the region, amazing food, local craft vendors, a carnival, a Kids Corral to entertain the kids and much more to the DPF 4-H camp. As a native long islander and 4-H alumnus I am a proud supporter of the rich 4-H history on Long Island and the ongoing mission of the camp. I believe it’s the perfect venue for Country Music in the most gorgeous setting on Long Island. It’ Laura Hunsberger, Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County, which has operated the Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp since its 1924 inception, said “We are pleased and proud to partner with CountryFest Long Island and excited to see New York’s oldest 4-H Camp transformed into a walking village that offers something for everyone with a genuine family-friendly festival featuring live music, dancing, BBQ, arts and crafts, pony rides, face painting, a carnival, educational exhibits and more.” Country Fest Long Island 2013 starts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013, rain or shine, at the Dorothy P.
