Solar Inception Pty Ltd Announces Solar Financing Options

BRISBANE – 16 July 2013 – Solar Inception Pty. Ltd. today announced a variety of new financing options to help clients cost effectively acquire, build and operate commercial, industrial, rural and large-scale PV plants.  The high capital cost associated with solar installations can be repaid over 5 – 10 year terms by   way of a finance or operating lease and for larger solar installations, secure funding that is linked to a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). These customised financing options support the company’s announcement today of a new division, Solari Energy*, that will serve small to large-scale solar projects and construction.  (*See separate press release for detail.)

The company first determined the range of financing options available for small, medium and large-scale PV system clients and then assembled a funding panel of Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listed financial institutions that are well known for related expertise, stability and highest quality customer service.  

Financing Programs

The variety of finance packages available to Solar Inception Pty. Ltd. clients includes:

1.     Solar Lease Agreements -   Available for small, medium and larger companies, Solar Lease agreements for installations as small as $10k require little or no initial capital investment and may be on balance sheet (finance lease) or off balance sheet (operating lease).  The client may make monthly or quarterly payments and if an operating lease, subject to a client’s tax advice, can be 100% tax deductible.  The primary benefit of a lease is to preserve client cash and banking lines for other activities, as a new financier relationship is introduced to the client by Solar Inception.   Solar leases generally deliver immediate energy savings because clients may be able to secure a discounted electricity price [fixed price per kilowatt-hour (kWh)] for the duration of the lease.  The reduction in standard power costs may also offset the monthly lease payment.  Depending on the lease agreement, at the end of the lease term the lessee is able to retain ownership of the equipment, or have the solar equipment upgraded or removed and replaced with a new system that can be funded by a new Solar Lease Agreement.          

2.     Solar Power Purchase Agreement Funding (PPA) - These agreements are available to larger clients with large-scale installations. The client agrees to buy the power generated by the system at a set price per kWh. Payments for the generated power may be either fixed over the PPA term (usually between 10-20 years) or increased at agreed-upon intervals and rates.

3.     Bespoke financing - By maintaining a diverse panel of multiple funding partners, Solar Inception is able to customize a financing agreement that addresses specific client needs that a Solar Lease or Power Purchase Agreement is unable to accommodate.
