By: Selah Haki Wright’s latest work is from her collage series titled “Fascinating and Heart Breaking.” The work incorporates some of Wright’s personal hand written notes; newspaper clippings; sketches of P.T. Barnum (of Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey fame); sketches of mermaids and science themed photography, among other things. In the nine works posted on Fine Art America, Wright combines her signature collage style with digital manipulation to develop eerie and vintage images. The selected works from this series will only be available until the beginning of August, at which time these selected works will be removed. Her signature collage work from her series titled, “Cali Free” can be seen on her website: http://www.dramaticpause.net/ Wright, a second generation Southern California native, wrote her third volume of poetry titled, "Say It! Say Gen-o-cide!!" − dedicated to the Rwandan Genocide of 1994. In 2009 she co-authored a volume of nuler poetry titled “A Crime And A Simplification Of Something Sublime” and in 2010 wrote a volume of nuler poetry titled, “50.” So far in 2013, Wright’s literary and art works have been published in: The Bicycle Review; Boxcar Poetry Review; Burning Word Literary Journal; Crack the Spine; The Fiction Week Literary Review; The Missing Slate; Orion headless; The Passionate Transitory; Subliminal Interiors and Wilderness House Literary Review.
