The season of Ramadan has a ‘magical’ aura about it, a notion of peace, tranquility and togetherness that lends itself to a demand for essential Islamic needs such as prayer times and a compass pointing in the direction of Mecca, to name but a few. The new ‘Islam’ app is invaluable for the muslim community in that it provides access to essential features that a muslim would require to not only guide them through Ramadan, but keep them in close contact with their religion at all times. The clean and simple design of the app has been created for an optimal user interface experience. No clutter. No noise. No distraction from the features of the app.

Accurate prayer times based on the user’s current location are provided through the ‘Prayer Times’ section of the app. Automatic daily prayer time updates only skim the surface of this feature as you can also customise the prayer method that you wish to use and have the prayer times adjust accordingly. Local notifications allows the user to set an 'alarm' for a specific prayer. Along with Prayer Times, the Islam app has a built in 'Compass' programmed to find the direction of the Ka'aba. Detecting your current location and calculating how many degrees away Mecca is, allows the app to provide an accurate direction for prayer.

The addition of the Qu’ran within the app, complete with it's 114 chapters and English translation is a great feature. The Sivvr team are working on introducing some new features to this area including audio recitations for verses and the ability to bookmark and share suras and ayats of the Qu’ran from within the app with friends and family.
