Striking Stone held an online Facebook auction of a custom designed engraved granite memorial and announced that all funds received would be donated to the
100 Club of Arizona. The winning bid produced a
$500 donation that will be used to help the families of the firefighters.
The recipient, Kate Lathrop of Phoenix, owns a cabin that survived the Yarnell Hill Fire. She and her husband were acquainted with one of the firefighters that lost his life.
“Having trained years ago as a volunteer wildland firefighter in Colorado means I personally felt the loss of the 19 firefighters this week,”
noted Jeffrey (Oakley) Rolwing, Striking Stone’
s Owner/Craftsman. “I am so happy that we were able to help these families in some small way and I thank all the auction participants.”
Striking Stone provides each client a method to express their personal flair and watch their artwork come to life on stone for an everlasting impression. The studio is conveniently located off the I-17 and 101 at 20816 N. 20
th Avenue, #30 Phoenix, Arizona 85027 and showcases stone choices, fundraiser options, memorial samples and customizable gifts.
