Those situations we see all the time but a lot of people are not aware of the many fitness and health benefits that Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu provides. Most students when they come to our gyms and start training Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu immediately start losing weight even though they are not lifting, they’re not doing any extra cardio. They don’t realize that Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu is an extremely aerobic and anaerobic activity so your burning calories, burning body fat and adding muscle.



In a class you can burn anywhere from 700 to 1100 calories depending on your metabolism your size and your weight but the benefits are unbelievable once you start training in Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. Another thing as you losing weight and getting a better shape you’ll see an immediate increasing muscle tone definition. I recommend you follow a meal plan not a diet but you can get away with eating the not so healthy foods once in a while. Because your metabolisms is so much higher from training your getting in better shape, your losing weight and your cardio is improving. We have a lot of students in the first three to six months losing 15 to the 40 pounds, so you can lose a lot of weight, get in shape really fast and also increase your health getting your cardio vascular system better, helping with any preexisting condition you should definitely talk to your doctor first but I always recommend some form of exercise and it’s hard to beat the workout that you get from Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu.



The nice thing is you can start off with our beginner only class at Peak Performance and get your cardio up, get your conditioning up, start getting strong and then you can move up to the immediate class and increase the intensity and then you go up to advanced class and keep increasing so as you progress we always have different option available to you. A lot of schools just have one level were we have three different levels so you are always able to push yourself but you are also not pushing so far out of your comport zone that you get hurt.
