Southeast Toyota Finance Associates Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. - July 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Southeast Toyota Finance associates recently volunteered at two new Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama’s (Habitat) home builds in the Hillsdale neighborhood. Habitat helps make the dream of home ownership a reality by partnering with families in need of housing.

“Giving back to the community is part of our company’s philosophy that associates truly value,” said Michael Hollis, Vice President of Service Center Operations for Southeast Toyota Finance. “Our associates look forward to working with the Habitat families and we are proud to continue supporting the organization’s mission.”

Since teaming up with Habitat in 2004, Southeast Toyota Finance has donated $170,000, and more than 75 associates have volunteered to help build nine new homes. At this most recent Habitat project, associates contributed hours of labor by painting and installing siding and trim on new homes.

Brent Roe, Collections Manager for Southeast Toyota Finance, has been a dedicated Habitat volunteer for several years and expressed his appreciation for having the opportunity to partner with Habitat and its families.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to work side by side with Habitat families to build their homes and then see the smiles on their faces when it’s complete,” Roe said.

Associates are committed to the nonprofit,  participating in other Habitat initiatives including the Women Build project, which teaches construction skills to women who want to lend a hand in home builds; and the Neighborhood Stabilization and Rehabilitation program where the organization purchases, then renovates foreclosed homes for future qualified Habitat families.

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama is a nonprofit located in Mobile, Ala. The organization is dedicated to eliminating poverty housing by building modest homes in partnership with people in need throughout the Southwest Alabama community. With the support of donated time, material and funds, Habitat houses are sold to low-income families at cost and are financed with affordable no-interest loans.
