Best time to visit monasteries and temples in Tibet

CHENGDU, China - July 10, 2013 - PRLog -- If you are practicing Buddhism or if you really want to know about Buddhism then you have to come on right time, which is in between May and June. It’s the time of Saga Dawa which is religious month of Buddhism and fifth month of Tibetan lunar calendar. On that month Lord Buddha was born, enlightened and died. Which over here in Tibet is greatest month for religion and also lots of Tibetans use to go to pilgrim in different monasteries and temples of Tibet and do all kind of rituals.

In monasteries and temples you will able to see all the monks gathered in assembly hall and praying together and practicing their rituals. Most of Tibetans does not eat meat on that month and they use to go in every monasteries and temples for offering and get blessed. On that month most of monasteries will be packed with Tibetan and you will able to see different kind of customs of different part of Tibet.

And in Tsurpu monastery you will able to see erecting of pole flag (a pole on which Tibetan use to tie prayer flags and those poles represents victory) on 8th of 5th month of Tibetan lunar calendar. On that day if you are visiting over there you should go very early otherwise you will not able to see it well from far.

On 15th of that lunar month in Ngari near mount Kailash there will be erecting of pole flag and in saying goes that when erecting of those two pole flags when it erect till half after half it erects by itself. Believe it or not you can visit over there. “Seeing is believing”
