ARVADA, Colo. - July 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Light rail stations across the Denver metro area have spurred growth of nearby housing and retail outlets. With the planned Griffith Station near Olde Town Arvada, growth has begun there, too.

Chip Meston of Blue Valley Development Co. in Bennett, CO recently announced that he is building Olde Town Village (, a community of nine two-story townhomes located at 5171 Carr St. The townhomes will be across from the new Griffith Station Park being developed by the city of Arvada, within walking distance to the new Griffith Station for light rail, and close to Olde Town Arvada.

“We bought the Arvada property in 2007 and with light rail expanding in the Northwest metro area, we know the time is right to build the townhomes,” explains Meston. “With the economy recovering, the demand for new homes increasing and financing available, the city of Arvada is also encouraging builders to incorporate multi-family housing close to the city center in their plans.”

Blue Valley Development Company has been building homes and assisted living facilities since 1995. The company is using Scott Glahn/Core Alternatives of Windsor, CO as its site supervisor for the townhome project because of the company’s experience in environmentally conscious green building.

Core Alternatives was instrumental in the development of several award-winning green building projects in recent years. These projects include the Casa Chiara duplexes in Denver that won the top award for sustainable residential project from the State of Colorado in 2010 and a large single family home in Loveland that was named Home of the Year by Country Living magazine in 2005.

The two-story units at Olde Town Village will have three bedrooms (each with a walk-in closet), three bathrooms, and two-car garages with close to 1,900 sq. ft. of space. “Residents will enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle with abundant high-end upgrades and designer paint in every unit,” Meston explains. “Kitchens are well appointed with slab granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a center island, high-end Bridgewood cabinets and more.”

Some of the building components will be provided by Wardcraft Homes, a modular company located in Fort Morgan, CO.  Wardcraft Homes is nationally recognized as a LEED compliant green builder that uses the highest standards of performance.  “Each home will also have a 10-year home warranty issued by Strucsure Home Warranty of Denver,” Meston adds.

Homes at Olde Town Village will have hard wood and tile floors as well as many energy-saving and green features including: improved insulation, windows and roof; low flow toilets; high efficiency heating and cooling; programmable thermostat; Energy Star appliances and more.  A tank-less water heater is available as an option.

The Olde Town Village townhomes are priced at $285,000 and are being marketed by Dale Seaman of Cherry Creek Properties. For more information, contact Seaman at 303-929-8991 or
