Philanthropy Campaign-Make a Difference Instead of Just a Living

Let's Raise $100 Million for Midland and Penetanguishene Ontario Charities

MIDLAND, Ontario - July 8, 2013 - PRLog -- A local investment advisor is on a mission to “make a difference instead of just a living” by raising $100 million for Midland and Penetanguishene Ontario charities over the next ten years.

According to Trevor Wright, Canadian community resources face unprecedented challenges as current financial issues are biting deeper into consumer’s wallets.  “I am significantly concerned about what appears to be a “Perfect Storm” that is brewing around charities – from which they may well be unable to escape in the decades to come.”

From women’s shelters and humane society centers to disease research foundations and local churches, the following three colluding dynamics are trapping community resources financially:

1.      Government funding is being slashed as our national leaders struggle to balance a ballooning healthcare crisis with more basic needs like road repair and technology infrastructure development.

2.      Canadians are experiencing ‘donor fatigue’ from the myriad of competing charities – many of which dispense a minority of their contributions to the end beneficiary.

3.      The charities themselves are burdened with increased costs across the board – from high gas and food prices to swollen ranks of dependents during this recession.

“I am building philanthropic giving into the estate plans of my current clients anyway.  It occurred to me that I could provide a “river of revenue” to local charities by leveraging my efforts across a broader base of financially privileged citizens.  Over the next ten years, I will be inviting interested citizens in our community to place life insurance policies through my office with one of 10 local charities being the owner and beneficiary of these policies.  We will literally release millions of dollars over the long term to these groups through the estates of those who put these policies in place.”

The financial leveraging power of life insurance is a well-documented fact.  For a healthy, non-smoking Canadian male in their 40’s, approximately $100 a month in premium can leave behind a    $100 000 death benefit to a nominated charity – and there are favourable tax benefits to the donor, according to governing CRA rules.

Trevor Wright’s stellar commitment to this community is perfectly in sync with Wright & Associates social responsibility strategy of financial support and upliftment of the disadvantaged and challenged sector.  We are proud of our efforts in launching this campaign.

Watch this space for pending announcements of Trevor Wright’s first Evening of Giving, where you can learn how to partner with him in building a financial safety net under your chosen charity.

Local charities who wish to be considered as beneficiaries of this campaign are invited to contact Trevor Wright for qualification criteria via telephone 1-877-242-9116 or email philanthropy@wrightassociates.ca.
