NEW YORK - July 5, 2013 - PRLog -- The Local Development Corporation of East New York (LDC) has selected a highly professional team of consultants and marketing experts to assist businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy located in the Coney Island and Canarsie neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The unique resources available to these communities include one-on-one business counseling, loan packaging and referrals, assistance with navigating government and private agencies, and hands-on marketing and social media assistance. All these programs are available to businesses free of charge.

To encourage community and citywide participation, several micro events are scheduled within Canarsie and Coney Island to support the businesses that were sorely affected physically and financially by Hurricane Sandy. These events main message will be for the local community to come out and support the businesses in their neighborhoods.

The Sandy Relief Director Santos Morales states “eight months after Superstorm Sandy have passed and still many businesses in NYC are finding it hard to stay in business, access financial assistance to replace their losses and they continue to suffer. The Sandy Relief team at the LDC of East New York is here to provide these business owners with the help they need to get back on track.”

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8):  “I applaud the Local Development Corporation of East New York and the U.S. Small Business Administration for their consistent efforts in helping residents get back on their feet after Superstorm Sandy devastatingly impacted many communities in South Brooklyn.  The collaboration between both organizations will facilitate access to invaluable resources that will help restore our neighborhoods and small businesses in Coney Island and Canarsie.  I look forward to working together to bring about a complete recovery in these devastated areas."

The Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Program is made possible through a collaborative agreement between the LDC of East New York and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
