Air source heat pumps - a low-carbon, low-cost alternative for commercial buildings

BRACKNELL, U.K. - July 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Much of the growth of the use of air source heat pumps has so far happened in the housing market, in the commercial sector, heating for buildings is still heavily reliant on traditional carbon-intensive technologies.  However as more realise the low carbon potential to this alternative to gas and oil, air source heat pumps are now steadily making their way into the heating sector delivering reliable, low-cost and low-carbon heating- as long as they are installed by fully trained and qualified heating engineers.

Air-to-water heat-pump systems operate most efficiently at lower water temperatures, effectively heating buildings with flow temperatures of 35 to 4o degrees.  In a properly insulated building, air source heat pumps will provide all the heating needed, they can also be added to existing systems to supplement the heating and meet renewable energy requirements.  Air source heat pumps have now been installed in numerous commercial buildings including schools, high-rise flats and offices.
