New York, NY (July 2, 2013) – Jin+Ja Drink has won the 2013 sofiTM Award for Outstanding Cold Beverage from the Specialty Food Association. This is the first time a Philadelphia based and African American owned beverage company was named a WINNER.

A sofi is the top honor in the $86 billion specialty food industry. “sofi” stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.

The Jin+Ja Drink was one of 125 Finalists selected by a national panel of specialty food professionals from a recordsetting 2,573 entries across 32 Awards categories including Outstanding Chocolate, Cheese, and Snack Food. Winners were announced July 1, 2013, by internationallyacclaimed Chef Marcus Samuelsson at a redcarpet ceremony at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

“Winning is the ultimate validation that we live in a world that needs us to share a spark of genius which makes each of us special. Jin+Ja is a tangible example that ‘unique’ is not only ok but in some circles it is celebrated,” states Reuben Canada, CEO of Canada Enterprises L.L.C. and creator of Jin+Ja Drink and a graduate of Howard University Law, Washington, D.C. Canada left a career in patent law and intellectual property to spread the experience of Jin+Ja, a drink considered an adventurous choice for health and wellness. Currently, Jin+Ja is sold at

Whole Foods and online at http://www.drinkjinja.com growing across the country.

The sofi Awards are open to members of the Specialty Food Association, a notforprofit trade association established in 1952 for food artisans, importers and entrepreneurs with more than 3,000 members in the U.S. and abroad.
