MARIETTA, Ga. - July 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Marietta Personal Injury Attorney M. Chase Swanson, of The Law Offices of Andrews W. Jones, recently helped sponsor and put together the Cobb County Bar Association’s inaugural Law Day Classic Golf Tournament. This event raised money for the Children’s Emergency Fund, which provides financial support to families in their times of need. The lawyer assisted with the charity tournament as part of a volunteer effort through the bar association’s Cobb Younger Lawyers Division (or Cobb YLD), a group in which Attorney Swanson serves as president. Attorney Andrew W. Jones also pitched in with the efforts of Mr. Swanson and his group to give back to the local community.

The Law Day Classic Golf Tournament was held on May 3, 2013, which is when the Cobb YLD also held its Great Day of Service—or the division’s annual even in which it provides an opportunity for Cobb Bar members to engage in community service. As part of their Great Day of Service, the YLD members helped prepare for and run the golf fundraiser—they posted signs, sold raffle tickets and assembled and distributed gift bags. The Younger Lawyers Division is a section of the Cobb County Bar Association that is for attorneys who are under 35 years of age and who have spent less than five years practicing law, according to the bar association’s website.

The bar association announced that all proceeds from the golf tournament would go toward the Children’s Emergency Fund. This is a fund that was established by the Cobb County Bar Association in order to provide one-time financial grants to families when they are going through times of crisis, as is noted on the bar association’s website. These difficult times might be due to job losses, serious illnesses or injuries of family members, deaths in the family or other similar types of hardships. The grants from Children’s Emergency Fund are meant to provide struggling families with money to pay for their basic needs, such as food, shelter and utilities. Since it was established, the emergency fund has already provided more than $200,000 in financial assistance to families in need.

In addition to serving as president of the Cobb YLD, Attorney Swanson is also Secretary of the Cobb County Trial Lawyers Association, as well as Co-Chair of that Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s New Lawyers Division. Attorney Jones is currently president of the Cobb County Trial Lawyers Association and has also held other prominent leadership roles in the past.

Both of the lawyers at The Law Offices of Andrews W. Jones devote their efforts to advocating for the rights of injury victims throughout the Marietta, Georgia area.
