Follow on Google News | Visitation Museum Displays over 200 Pieces of Art Dedicated to the Sacred Heart of JesusBy: TreeFrogClick, Inc. A new video — which has received 1,200 views in its first four days – highlights some of the pieces of art being displayed. The collection, which includes banners, decorative pieces, books, and vestments from the 17th to 20th centuries has been put on a virtual display in this video. The beautiful pieces of art tug the viewer towards a higher reality: the supernatural love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which has “so greatly loved people.” A Sister of the Visitation Order in 17th Alacoque, received mystical visions of Jesus who spoke of the love of his Sacred Heart. Devotion to the Sacred Heart – a symbol of life and gifted love – was encouraged by St. Margaret Mary. Devotions Later Depicted in Art Before her death in 1690, the saint would repeat, "What have I in heaven and what do I desire on earth, but Thee alone, O my God." She became known as a 'Disciple of the Sacred Heart' and her writings, devotions, and revelations of the Heart of Jesus were discussed long after her death. This led, in part, to the artistic depiction of the “Sacré Cœur” on the works of art now held by the Visitation Museum in Moulins, France. The paintings, embroidery, and other artifacts collected, and brought here from afar hail from Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, New Zealand, and China. The over-200 pieces of artwork, on display until Dec. 24, are also shown in the French book “À Tout Cœur (All Heart) the Art of the Sacred Heart of the Visitation.” View video here: http://visitationspirit.org/ Visit the website of the Second Federation of the Visitation, at http://VisitationSpirit.org.
