Lewis Construction Equipment, one of South Australia’s leading agricultural machinery dealers, specialise in supplying New Holland Workmaster tractors to farmers and growers in the Adelaide Hills.
WINGFIELD, Australia - July 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Lewis Construction Equipment, based in Wingfield, are experts in New Holland agricultural and farm machinery, and specialise in supplying growers and farmers located in the Adelaide Hills with the full range of Workmaster tractors.

“For Adelaide Hills growers and farmers,” said Dylan Caldwell of Lewis Construction Equipment, “the New Holland Workmaster series of compact tractors is an ideal solution that gives them real reliability and versatility. These tractors are also very easy to maintain and comfortable to operate, and all of this combines to give real value for money.”

The Hills environment means that growers and farmers are often required to work in narrow and confined spaces, and on steep or uneven ground, and this increases their need for versatile, utility tractors that are able to perform a large variety of tasks. The new Holland Workmaster series fits the bill in a cost-effective, efficient way.

“We supply four different Workmaster models — 45hp and 55hp, both of which come in 2WD and 4WD versions — all of which run on four-cylinder diesel engines, fitted with timed glow plugs to ensure quiet and smooth starts in cold weather,” said Dylan Caldwell. “All of these engines are also Tier III compliant and feature indirect mechanical fuel injection, so you get a quick response and better fuel efficiency, as well as smooth running.”

As they are fitted with a mechanical transmission and a synchronised forward and reverse shuttle, the Workmaster series is particularly suited to forklift and heavy duty front-end loader work, especially in the Hills. This allows an operator to move easily between forward and reverse, and so the Workmaster is ideal for mowing, moving, baling or loading work. Dylan Caldwell added, “The forward and reverse shuttle also means your tractor won’t roll away when it’s parked on a steep hill or uneven ground, and this is especially useful when you have a load of apples or grapes on board.”

The Workmaster is straightforward to operate, featuring gears that are arranged in a simple H pattern. Both the 45hp and 55 hp models have four constant mesh gears, each with a high and low range, giving you eight forward and eight reverse gears that can operate at speeds of between 2.8kmh and 29.9 kmh.

Each of the four models comes fitted with a set of rear hydraulic remote valves for sprayers or a hydraulic top link, as well as a three-point hitch lift for using forks. “It’s dead easy to hook up and remove buckets and other attachments on the Workmaster, because it has a quick-attach design, with flexible link ends, telescoping stabilisers and a swinging drawbar. You get a three-point lift capacity of between 1060kg (45hp) to 1430kg (55hp), and the independent 540rpm PTO means you can keep your attachments engaged when you’re changing gears or turning,” said Dylan Caldwell. “Another bonus feature is that it has adjustable rims, so you can choose a wide track setting when you’re working in a vineyard or orchard on steep or uneven ground.”

The New Holland Workmaster places a premium on operator comfort, being easy to climb aboard and featuring an adjustable deluxe contoured suspension seat. There is a sloped hood that provides excellent sight lines while driving, and the controls are dash- and side-mounted, making them efficient to use. Dylan Caldwell added, “All models feature ROPS, particularly important in the Adelaide Hills where you’re likely to come across plenty of steep ground.”

Maintenance, too, is extremely straightforward, vitally important for the smaller operator. The one-piece bonnet hood opens upwards easily, and the checkpoints are all conveniently placed to give you straightforward access to service areas.

Therefore, if you’re an Adelaide Hills grower or farmer and you’re looking for a compact tractor that you can rely on, work hard in any conditions and maintain easily at an affordable price, contact Dylan Caldwell at Lewis Construction Equipment to find out more about the New Holland Workmaster range. They’re dependable and adaptable, and offer the smaller operator excellent vale for money. Contact Dylan Caldwell at Lewis Construction Equipment to learn more.
