Recap important phone calls with RECAP
Minnesota inventor launches Kickstarter project for device that facilitates phone call recording

MINNETONKA, Minn. - July 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Recording phone calls have just become easier with the invention of RECAP, a small adapter for Android and iPhone which let callers store important conversations into a computer.
If you ever needed to record an important phone call then you may know “there’s no app for that”. That is because Apple restricts the ability of iPhones to record calls. Similarly Google does not allow recording of outgoing calls in their popular Google Voice product.
RECAP is a hardware solution that overcomes the limitations imposed by cell phone manufacturers and service providers. RECAP captures audio directly from the phone’s headset jack and feeds it into a computer’s microphone input. RECAP allow users to easily record incoming or outgoing calls while they talk normally on their headset. Other uses include transferring voicemails to computer, capturing audio from Skype or any audio the cell phone plays out.
RECAP inventor Igor S. Ramos said he came up with the idea for RECAP after realizing how easy it was for people to forget the main points of phone conversations, even shortly after they take place. RECAP enable users to record calls, then whenever needed listen & recap the main points of the talk or even share the recordings via email, added Ramos.
“Project supporters are reaching out and sharing their stories of how RECAP benefits them,” said Ramos. “One individual will use RECAP with his elderly parents to preserve the family stories and pass them on to the next generation.”
“While it is easy to store photographs and emails, it is more challenging to keep memories of old conversations with family and friends,” added Ramos. “RECAP is a simple yet powerful tool that bridges the technology gap, providing users an easy way to get audio out of the phone into a computer”.
RECAP was selected as one of the Top 10 Kickstarter projects by Askmen.com for June. “If you’ve ever had to record an interview, wanted to take detailed audio notes from a call, the RECAP is a device that can help,” said Askmen.com writer Justin Amirkhani. “The adapter can fit into the regular 3.5mm audio jacks making it very useful and easy to use.”
With less than 2 weeks to go before the campaign ends on July 15, 2013, RECAP already got the support of over 100 backers. The innovative device has already surpassed target funding by over 700%. Link to the Kickstarter campaign: http://www.kickstarter.com/
RECAP is presently available as a functional prototype while the final design is still in progress. Manufacturing will start soon after the Kickstarter campaign period ends.
