By: Uson Marine The Uson OWMS food waste system is a combination disposer and vacuum system. Easy to retrofit, it is designed for hygienic collection and treatment of food waste in compliance with the new regulations as well as new Class Notations like DNV Clean Design. Uson Marine has recently launched a unique food waste shredder resulting in a clear step forward for onboard food waste handling. The unique design ensures that the shredder housing and bearings are completely watertight during operation. It takes care of all food waste fractions, including those considered difficult for most other macerator to handle, thus reducing storage and disposal problems and, at the same time, increasing hygiene onboard. Uson have experienced an increase demand for food waste systems, not only from the marine industry, but also from the Offshore industry, resulting in resent orders from customers like Songa Offshore, Swire Pacific, Bassdrill, Prosafe, Subsea 7, A2Sea and Seadrill.
