ImagineMechanix Announces Availability of FREE Knitting Sock Pattern

July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- ImagineMechanix has recently published a free knitting sock pattern for advanced beginner and intermediate level knitters. In addition to the pattern, knitters will learn tips on how to best construct medium-sized socks using fingering weight yarn and size-2 knitting needles.

Access the pattern online: http://imaginemechanix.com/2013/06/knit-sock-pattern/

“I've been passionate about knitting for about five years now and my favorite projects are those that I can easily transport,” says Donna Martinez, author and designer at ImagineMechanix. “One can knit socks virtually anywhere, and they’re fun to knit. Even the most basic pattern provides a variety of steps and stitches.”

This basic sock pattern is knitted in the round from the cuff down on double-pointed, size-2 needles. The pattern also incorporates these construction techniques – ribbing, heel flap and heel shaping, gusset shaping, and toe-shaping.

Donna says, “Machine-knitted socks can’t come close to the comfort of hand-knitted socks. I hope the pattern will help someone knit a pair of socks for the first time.”
