Houston ISD Selects Hayes Software Systems’ TIPWeb-IT to Automate Asset Management Process

District and School Administrators to Benefit from Shared Access to Electronic Asset Record Management

AUSTIN, Texas - June 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Hayes Software Systems today announces that Houston Independent School District (HISD) in Houston, Texas has awarded it a contract to implement a comprehensive inventory control system for asset management and provide change management consulting services. The 7th largest school district in the country will be automating the yearly asset identification process in each of its 300 school buildings with the TIPWeb-IT software system.

Hayes Software Systems will provide HISD with complementary functionality to the district’s market-leading business management software, SAP, to improve asset identification and record accuracy. Hayes Software Systems’ TIPWeb-IT solution will allow HISD to automate the tracking of assets necessary for day-to-day operational efficiency of school buildings and instructional classroom practices. Creating a paperless asset management process will significantly reduce the dependency on paper-based forms to improve the efficiency of staff and reliability of asset records. From the computers used in the classroom to the kitchen equipment found in the cafeteria, TIPWeb-IT will support the district’s 200,000+ students, teachers, and administrators and manage over 1 million assets.

The data collection and tracking methodologies of TIPWeb-IT, combined with the district’s SAP solution, support both fiscal responsibility and asset transparency at the school building and department leadership levels. By providing a tool to school leaders to manage assets more effectively, HISD will control losses, over-ordering, and increase efficiencies – all while freeing more time for school leaders and staff to spend on instruction.

With TIPWeb-IT, HISD will automate administrative tasks that principals, clerical, and technical support staff had formerly performed by hand to inform property management of the status of assets. The system will create more efficient means of managing and tracking assets to provide administrators with a complete, real-time view of their assets. School staff will not only have access to data to make their jobs easier, but the software will give them more time to focus on what they do best – shaping and executing a vision of academic success for all students.
