ATLANTA - June 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Around the Rings will be on the scene in Lausanne July 2-4 when the IOC elects the first Youth Olympic Games host outside Asia and hears from the three cities bidding for the Games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will convene July 3 and 4 for a technical briefing for the 2020 bid cities and Extraordinary Session to vote on the site of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

The candidate cities for the Summer 2018 YOG are Buenos Aires, Argentina; Glasgow, Scotland, and Medellin, Colombia.

"Since the first Summer and Winter Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and Innsbruck, ATR has been committed to following the developments of the newest event in the Olympic Family," said Sheila Scott Hula, publisher for ATR. "We have already published reports on the 2014 YOG in Nanjing, and we are excited to discover the YOG host city for 2018."

Editor and founder Ed Hula and European Editor Mark Bisson will be in Lausanne to cover the proceedings.

Before the YOG host city is decided July 4, the IOC will convene for a technical briefing regarding the candidate cities for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Around the Rings will be on the scene to cover the July 3 presentations of Tokyo, Istanbul, and Madrid, contenders in the 2020 bid race.

The briefing is a chance for candidate cities to present the technical aspects of their bids. It will be the last opportunity for IOC members to question the prospective host cities prior to the September 7 vote at 125th IOC session in Buenos Aires.
