Review: Atlas Genius at Bowery Ballroom

Atlas Genius rocked Bowery Ballroom along with openers Haerts & Pacific Air.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Australian-bred band Atlas Genius showed that they are a force to be reckoned with at their sold-out Bowery Ballroom show on Wednesday, June 19 in New York City. Along with opening acts Haerts and Pacific Air, the indie-rockers put on one of the most energetic, entertaining shows I've been to this year.

Haerts was the first to prepare the crowd for the show. I'd never heard of them before, but I can say that I'm definitely not disappointed. Their sound is upbeat and easy to dance along to. The New York City-based (Germany/England/US-bred) band is comprised of Nini Fabi, Ben Gebert, Garrett Ienner, Derek McWilliams, and Jonathon Schmidt.

The five-piece band succeeded in getting me to make a mental note to check out more of their songs later and in getting the crowd pumped for the next band up to perform.

Next up for my musical enjoyment was the band Pacific Air, whom I'd also never heard of but was pleasantly surprised by their sound. The group, formally known as Ko Ko and headed by brothers Ryan and Taylor Lawhon, have only been around about a year or so but I can definitely see big things for them. The crowd clearly loved them as they sang and danced along to their set.
