Collierville Real Estate Professional Allison Pierce Encourages Residents to Vote on School District

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - June 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Early Voting begins July 6, 2013 and will end on July 11, 2013. Weekday voting will take place from 10 AM - 7 PM and Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM. Sunday there will be no voting. Collierville residents can vote at Collierville Church of Christ located at 575 W Shelton Rd, Collierville TN 38017.

Collierville residents who do not vote early will have an additional opportunity July 16, 2013 to vote on a municipal school referendum. If it passes, it would authorize the creation of a Collierville Municipal School District.

Last August, Collierville residents voted on the same issue and showed an overwhelming support to form a Collierville school district. Although a court ruling nullified last year's results, both the Tennessee House and Senate have since approved the bill allowing municipalities to create new school districts.

If the referendum passes July 16, the Town of Collierville will begin the process. The Town will hold an election for an educational board on November 7, 2013. Those who wish to run for a seat on The Collierville Board of Education may file appropriate documents with the Shelby County Election Commission this summer.
