FPA NexGen is an online community of more than 300 young professional members of the Financial Planning Association™, age 36 and under.

As a scholarship recipient, Roberge enjoyed an all-expenses paid trip to the annual conference which brought together the brightest minds of the FPA NexGen community, providing an opportunity to discuss all of the topics and trends facing the future of the financial planning profession.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on their work experience, community service involvement and responses to several essay questions.

Roberge, a resident of Salem MA, has been in the financial services industry for 12 years and a member of the FPA since January 2012.  He is a Certified Financial Planner with Breakwater Asset Management, a fee only financial planning and asset management firm with offices in Salem, MA and Hampton, NH.  In his practice, Roberge focuses on helping professionals in their 30s and 40s understand and coordinate their cash flow, develop achievable goals for the future and invest wisely.

Roberge is actively involved in both his high school and college Alma Maters; as such he sits on the executive committee of the St. John’s Preparatory Alumni Association and holds a director position on the Babson College Alumni Association.

“The financial planning profession is evolving daily,” said Roberge.  “My goal in attending this conference is to meet and collaborate with the best young minds in the industry, moving our profession forward to support the ever-changing needs of people – it’s about making a difference in the lives of my clients.”

“We congratulate Eric on being named a recipient of the NexGen Gathering scholarship,” said Peter Jaworski, CFP, President of the FPA of MA. “We know he will benefit from and contribute to many discussions about the future of the financial services industry while at this important conference where he will have the opportunity to get to know his peers, colleagues and the FPA leadership.”
