 PlumbersStock partners with Elkay to provide children with clean drinking waterBy: PlumbersStock PlumbersStock and Elkay have partnered to help the Rotary Club of Los Barriles Cabo Este with their charitable work in the East Cape region of Baja California Sur. The Rotary Club is currently focused on Albergues, a local student housing facility in need of donations. In an effort to help solve Alburgues’ water issues, PlumbersStock has collaborated to donate and install two Elkay drinking fountains. Albergues is located in the rural townships of Santiago and La Rivera. Because children in the area must travel so far for school, it is necessary that they stay at the student housing facility during the week. Children ages 4 to 15 have been housed at Albergues for over 6 decades. Currently there are 65 children living there. Although these new drinking fountains will make great improvements to student health, there is more to be done. The Rotary Club is looking for donations to help improve on the quality of Albergues’ water supply. The housing facility has a broken water heater, but more importantly the students would greatly benefit from an ultra-violet water purification system that can do wonders for their general health.
