WUSA9 Tees Up the 2013 AT&T National Golf Tournament
WUSA 9’s television coverage will include live afternoon broadcasts all week long beginning at 5pm and also special late night wrap-up shows Wednesday through Friday from 11:32 to 11:50 pm. And on Sunday June 30th, coverage will conclude with an exclusive wrap-up show; “Game On: Overtime” at 11:35pm which will focus on special AT&T National Highlights from the entire tournament. WUSA 9’s coverage also includes a vibrant digital component with exclusive streamed content delivered on the WUSA 9 news app and live twitter coverage all week long.
According to WUSA 9 President and General Manager Mark Burdett; “this is our second year of a significant commitment to local and regional sports, and the AT&T National Golf Tournament is the highlight of the local golf season. WUSA 9’s Morning News Anchor Mike Hydeck, and WUSA 9 Sports Reporter/ Anchor, Kristen Berset will report live each day of the tournament. The Washington Post Golf expert and sports reporter Barry Svrluga will be on hand to offer his golf game insights throughout the tournament.
The tournament, sponsored by the Tiger Woods Foundation, is in its seventh year of play and is expected to draw a crowd of over 150,000 fans and spectators. The golfers will compete for a $6.5 million purse.
