South Carolina has plenty to offer from the coastal east to the far west, but the middle of the state dominated with five trails right outside of Colombia. Congaree National Park made plenty of appearances on this list with four trails within the park ranking in the top 10. The Bluff trail offers a beautiful, but short, hike through the Congaree's youngest eco-system, while The Boardwalk Loop takes hikers along a self-guided trail raised up on a boardwalk. Sesquicentennial State Park, also in the Colombia area, offers 4 great hiking trails that also double as biking trails. The greater Charleston area was also a hotspot on our list, with 3 of the top 10 in that area. Hikers can enjoy a 50-mile hike along Swamp Fox Passage, or simply take a 4-mile out-and-back trail that skirts Lake Marion in Santee State Park. "The low country's trails offer so much diversity and wildlife, and this list highlights that," comments Tripleblaze Writer, Kelley Spurlock. "Each of these hikes showcase the best of the best in South Carolina, and will likely leave hikers happy that they went." All of these trails run through either state parks or national parks, and hold a variety of plant life and wildlife.
