CONTEXT appoints DACH country manager

June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- London – In line with its objective to expand its presence and drive more demand for its research capabilities, CONTEXT, the IT research company, today announced a senior appointment to its European team. Amanuel Dag joins as Country Manager for the DACH region (Germany, Switzerland and Austria), working closely with CONTEXT customers, partners and prospects in the region.

Amanuel Dag is an accomplished Market Intelligence professional with more than 15 years experience in the technology sector. Previously, Amanuel has held a number of positions at Fujitsu Siemens Computers and m.o.c. (market research company), where he specialised in providing strategic research consultancy to blue-chip customers. He was also chairman of the European microcomputing statistics (EMS) committee, a market research association of the top10 leading IT hardware vendors.

Based in Berlin Amanuel will be a key spokesperson and first point of contact for CONTEXT customers and panel partners, working on expanding the CONTEXT distribution panel across the DACH region.

"The IT hardware market is currently undergoing major changes with hardware increasingly becoming a commodity and margins generated mainly through value-added services”, said Amanuel Dag, country manager for DACH at CONTEXT. “Recent CONTEXT figures show a decline in sales revenues across almost all hardware product categories for April and May this year, including a drop of -12.5% for notebooks, -10% for desktops, -22.2% for workstations and -6.7% for servers. Tablets continue to be the only light at the end of the tunnel with revenue growth of 15.6% over those two months.”
