SALEM, Mass. - June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- (SALEM, MASS.) – Candidate for the open seat in Salem’s Ward 4, Democrat David Eppley, today announced increased campaign awareness through a coordinated ‘listening tour,’ where new events, engagement opportunities and more social media connections will be presented for constituents to ask questions and connect directly with David Eppley for Ward 4 campaign, kicking off on the US Senate Election Day, Tuesday, June 25th,, with a meet-and-greet outside of Witchcraft Heights Elementary School, located at 1 Frederick Street, Salem, MA throughout the day.

“To earn the votes of the people in Salem, you have to show them that you are both available and listening,” said David Eppley. “I want to run a campaign that highlights my leadership skills, the love I have of our city and the opportunity for citizens to sound off on issues they care about. However, you can’t progress those ideals until fellow hard-working folks in our ward understand what’s at stake and how to get involved.”

David Eppley, who recently ran in the Massachusetts Governor’s Council in 2012, seeks the open seat left by Council President Jerry Ryan to lend professional and personal expertise to Salem’s Ward 4. Two other candidates have filed papers for the same seat, but Eppley plans to pursue every vote with renewed vigor and determination on his newly announced listening tour and campaign.

“This is my home and I want to find solutions for our homeowners, small businesses and community leaders alike, together,” Eppley added. “From cleaning up our streets, to exploring new transit options, to increased community initiatives, I’m confident that if I’m the next City Councilor from Ward 4, more accountability and transparency will help benefit our neighborhood and city wide.

As part of the founding advising team for Salem First Coalition, a non-partisan site, which aims to educate and increase voter awareness, Eppley has already caught the attention of new faces within his neighborhood, including Laurie Granholm of Butler Street.

“I don’t follow politics too much, but when Dave stopped at my house, I could tell he was breath of fresh air,” Granholm said. “He was eager to find out how he could help me and to really listen to my concerns. I am definitely going to join him on his future neighborhood cleanup campaigns and am thankful he stopped by!”
