Full news release:

On August 5th, 2013, local Fellowship of Christian Athletes staffer, Anthony "Tony" Chillemi will be bike riding nearly 370 miles to raise funds and awareness for the FCA ministry in south Florida and the Treasure Coast.

Chillemi will first travel by car to Savannah, Georgia where he will start a nearly 370-mile voyage to Raleigh, NC. His starting point is in the vicinity of where the annual FCA staff and family retreat takes place, where hundreds of fellow missionaries will come together for a time of rest, rejuvenation, and celebration of the ministry of FCA. The route will take him through a total of three states and take approximately 25-30 hours of seat time on the bike until he reaches Brier Creek Country Club later in the week, where the first ever Tenth Avenue North Classic is being held (more details on the Classic further down).

Tony serves as the Treasure Coast Area Representative for the Gold Coast Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a ministry that covers a five-county area in south Florida with a population of more than 3.5 million people. He's doing this ride for all of the athletes and coaches in his area and around the world.

"These are the people who can help change our world for the better with their influence when paired with the core values of Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence which is what a ministry known as FCA is all about," said Chillemi.

Currently in more than 50 area public schools, Gold Coast FCA is seeking help in order to raise the funds necessary in order to expand its presence in the area and to continue the ministering that it is currently doing through coaches, campuses, camps, and in the community.

His goal for the 369-mile bike ride is to raise at least $25,000. These funds would help in providing needed ministry resources including bibles, staff, and camp scholarships for athletes and coaches here in south Florida.
