EDWARDS, COLORADO (June 21, 2013) Unique Venues (http://www.uniquevenues.com) (http:.//www.uniquevenues.com) is more than a marketing and membership organization that connects one-of-a-kind event locations with meeting planners; it’s a community driver, too. In a newly revamped corporate giving program (http://www.uniquevenues.com/giving) that debuted this year, Unique Venues randomly draws the name of one employee who is allowed to pick their choice of charity organization annually. All fundraising dollars will be sent directly to this organization over the course of the year, maximizing the contributions and making a greater difference for the designee.

In 2013, Unique Venues founder Michele Nichols was appointed and chose Children’s Global Alliance. This Vail, Colorado-based organization facilitates annual service trips to Cambodia and Nicaragua for teenage volunteers looking to begin their philanthropic efforts from an early age. “Once they see how little effort it takes to enhance someone’s life so greatly, they become fascinated with the idea that, ‘I can be this young and change someone’s life,’” says Children’s Global Alliance founder Lisa Marie Howell. “Our students come back to their community with a new sense of pride, appreciation for their family and feel fortunate for their life situation.”

The students who apply to the program must complete several steps including fundraising their own money for airfare and accommodations. Contributions like the dollars Unique Venues provides go directly towards the service projects in the country, such as planting crops, providing families with running water for the first time and teaching sustainable classes on gardening.

Unique Venues begins the year with a $500 donation to the partner organization in lieu of sending holiday cards to members. An additional $5 is donated for every new member and renewal during the year, and there are further opportunities for members to match those contributions throughout 2013.

“It’s our way of giving back to the community that has supported us,” says founder Michele Nichols. “I look forward to seeing our partner organizations in the years ahead.”
