Super Lawyers®, a Thomas Reuters business, is an attorney rating service which evaluates candidates from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in their field of practice. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process which includes a statewide survey of lawyers, third-party research, and peer review by practice area.
The Super Lawyers® research department evaluates candidates based on 12 indicators of peer recognition, some of which include: verdicts and settlements, representative clients, honors and awards, special licenses and certifications, their position within the law firm, pro bono work, community service as an attorney, scholarly lectures and writings, as well as other outstanding achievements.
The Super Lawyers® selection process is a comprehensive attempt to produce a list of the nation’s top-rated attorneys, who have attained the highest levels of peer recognition, who have met the highest ethical standards and demonstrated achievement in their profession.
The Rising Stars℠ lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers® Magazines and the leading regional magazines across the country. While as many as 5% of attorneys in the state are selected to Super Lawyers®, no more than 2.5% of the state’s lawyers are included in the Rising Stars℠ list.
