These brilliantly, breath taking masterpieces are captured by the incredibly talented artist, Javier Ávila. Join us for a red carpet opening reception on Thursday June 27th from 6:00-9:00PM VIP guest list or $50.00 Donation Required The exhibition will run from June 27th, 2013 until August 26th, 2013 and will feature: Celebrated Mexican & American Artist Javier Ávila Javier’s art is influenced by his cross-cultural upbringing having been raised in both Mexico & the U.S. When he started painting at age 16, he immediately sold work in a solo exhibition in his native San Francisco. His success continued with exhibitions at The Mission Cultural Center &The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery. He also draws from his long prosperous career as a milliner, costume, set and interior designer for homes, theater and television. He has worked for The Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, The American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theater, Thomas O’Brien of Aero Studios and The Martha Stewart Show. Javier is now poised for a career as a painter, fully focusing his creative passion and spiritual energies towards his continued journey as an artist. Ávila lives and works in New York City & also Mexico. AFC is dedicated to promoting awareness of the plight of homeless LGBTQ youth in the United States with the goal of generating responses on local and national levels from government funders, foundations, and the LGBTQ community.
