Speak No Evil Director Roze Wins Best Horror Feature at Jerome, Arizona Indie Film and Music Festival

(Jerome, Ariz) The independent film Speak No Evil took away the Best Horror Feature award at the annual Jerome Indie Film and Music Festival on June 16, 2013. The film, which was shot entirely in Arizona was written, produced and directed by innovative filmmaker, Roze.

"It is always an honor to be recognized for your work but I am especially proud to have made a movie that both critics and fans enjoy." said Roze. "We just started a summer tour to promote the film and Jerome was our very first festival. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome or better festival experience."

The Jerome Indie Film and Music Festival is held each year in the second week of June. Jerome, a mining town abandoned in the early 1900’s is known was a 'ghost town' that was resurrected as an artist community hosts the festival. "During the weekend we got to interact with an eclectic mix of filmmakers and film fans who appreciate the Indie movie experience.” continued Roze, “The atmosphere is perfect for an exchange of creative thoughts. From the venues to the trophies, everything about Jerome is atypical...really funky and fun.”

Speak No Evil is a story of a young mother whose daughter has gone missing under suspicious circumstances. In her search for the daughter, and subsequently all the children in a small town, the movie takes a turn into a suspenseful, drama-filled horror. The film stars Gabrielle Stone, Mario Guzman, Carl Jensen IV and introduces 14 year old Olivia Cavender as the daughter.

Speak No Evil is the second feature for Roze and his first award in the category. His first short film, All Dogs, premiered at the Scottsdale Film Festival and received three awards including Best Sound Design, Best Special Effects and Best Experimental Film. Roze’s next film, MOM, another experimental short, garnered him five awards and also premiered in the 2005 Phoenix International Film Festival. His third short film Denial, which became an Official Selection of the Moving Picture Magazine Short Film Contest. Denial had private screenings at both the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and the 2007 Cannes International Film Market.
