By: John Palmer Art Once each year, Palmer travels to a new international city to immerse himself in its culture and create a prized, very limited and unique art series based on the journey. In recent years, he has produced powerful bodies of work from Berlin (2010), Dublin (2011) and Jerusalem (2012). Palmer is supported on his art mission by a prominent and prestigious art collecting group known as the First Class Club. The ten elite members each craft an essay that direct Palmer, in some form, on where he should travel. This year, the winning essay determined that his series should focus on the emotion of "surprise." Palmer enacted a true surprise, with the detailed help of Di Paolo, by arriving in the beautiful city of Sao Paulo on Tuesday June 11th--after falsely promoting a trip to Shanghai since January. Palmer's graffiti mural in Morumbi will embody Escapism, the name given to both his primary art style and his Art Movement.
