Follow on Google News | Arlington Heights Ford Raises Funds for Employee's American Cancer Society Chicago Marathon RunThe dealership is assisting technician Scott Jobst with his efforts to raise $1,500 for the American Cancer Society. Jobst will be running the Chicago Marathon on October 13 as part of the DetermiNation team.
Originally, Jobst began running a year ago just to get back in shape. He soon made the decision to take on the challenge of running the Chicago Marathon, but also wanted to raise money for a worthy cause that was close to his heart. “I decided that I wanted to run the Chicago Marathon, and I wanted to do it through the American Cancer Society because both my parents passed from cancer,” Jobst said. Focusing on running the marathon in his parents’ honor helped Jobst get through the difficult training process. “As the running got harder, I just started to think of my parents more when I would run just to focus on that instead of trying to run,” said Jobst. “And it would seem to help me get through a tough part of a run.” In addition to helping Jobst get the word out about his fundraising for the American Cancer Society, Arlington Heights Ford is proud to sponsor a variety of organizations and causes in the area (http://www.ahfordcares.com/ Proudly serving Arlington Heights, Palatine, and the surrounding communities, Arlington Heights Ford is happy to help area residents with everything from charitable initiatives to the search for a great new or used car.
