Long Island Hyundai Dealer, Millennium Hyundai, Comments on Hyundai’s Launch of EV’s to the U.S.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - June 13, 2013 - PRLog -- On June 13, 2013, Millennium Hyundai commented on a Daily Tech article by Tiffany Kaiser, regarding the news of Hyundai launching battery-electric vehicle (BEV) to the U.S. market.

According to the Daily Tech article (http://www.dailytech.com/Quick+Note+Hyundai+to+Launch+EV+for+US+Market+/article31728c.htm), “Hyundai is finally giving in and developing a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) for the U.S.” The article explains that Hyundai already sells BEV’s in South Korea call the BlueOn, and it gets 90 miles to a charge with a maximum speed of 80 mph. According to Hyundai CEO John Krafcik, “Our primary zero-emission vehicle focus is fuel cell right now, but we will certainly field a BEV at some point.”

The article mentions that even though hydrogen fuel cell cars are the number one priority on Hyundai’s list at the moment, hydrogen is hard to come by, so BEV’s might be their next best bet. The article states that another big factor in making BEV’s available in the U.S. are due to the strict regulations in California. According to the article, “The state will require all major auto manufacturers to include some form of zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) among their vehicle options.”
