TOPANGA, Calif. - June 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum kicks off its 40th Anniversary season with Taming of the Shrew. Shakespeare’s rowdy romp stands as one of his sharpest and funniest scripts. No suitor can win lovely Bianca until her older sister, “Katherine the Cursed,” is married off. Can Petruchio subdue Kate’s temper and win her bountiful dowry, or will she continue her shrewish ways?

“The high-spirited story of the courting, wedding and bedding of the scrappy Kate by the outrageous Petruchio rings out through the ages,” says director Ellen Geer. “Is Kate a shrew, or is she simply an outspoken woman born ahead of her time? Is Petruchio a macho tough guy, or is he someone strong enough of heart to see a great thing when it is in front of him?
