DENVER - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- DENVER, Colorado -- June 11, 2013 -- Last week, Colorado’s energy industry took advantage of a unique opportunity to network, enjoy ice-cold drinks, and play disc golf at a special Energy Industry Happy Hour at Badlands Disc Golf in Federal Heights, Colorado. The event was hosted by IECRM (www.iecrm.org), the region’s premier energy industry trade association, and sponsored by Quality Electrical Distribution, “QED”, (www.qedelectric.com), a regional electrical distributor serving residential and commercial contractors, industrial facilities, and OEM businesses.

Local guests at the Happy Hour included Encore Electric, Inc. (Englewood, CO), Weifield Group Contracting (Denver, CO), Northglenn Winlectric (Denver, CO), and IECRM staff and instructors. Guests were treated to coolers filled with ice-cold beers and sodas, sandwiches, and snacks.

Traditionally, IECRM hosts its monthly Energy Industry Happy Hour at different restaurants and bars in the Denver metro area, such as Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Denver, and Chinook Tavern in Greenwood Village. In keeping their networking events fresh and engaging, the trade association decided to cater to the younger members of its association by having the Happy Hour on a disc golf field.

The next networking event for the energy and construction industries is the GC Forum: Money Matters, a dinner and panel discussion featuring five key general contractors: DTP, GE Johnson Construction Company, Gilmore Construction, Kiewit Colorado, and PCL Construction. The five panelists will discuss bidding, estimates and the trickle-down effect (partnerships, products, purchasing, etc.), collections, avoiding common mistakes, and other hot topics. The GC Forum is co-hosted by IECRM and the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (HCC) (www.hispanic-contractors.org), and will take place on the evening of Thursday, June 20th, at The Tailgate Roadhouse in downtown Denver. Tickets for the GC Forum are $45-$55 and can be purchased here: https://www.iecrm.org/events/2013-gc-forum-money-matters/

Sign up to attend future energy industry events at www.iecrm.org, where you can also learn about opportunities for membership and partnership with the trade association, as well as education opportunities such as IECRM’s Four-Year Apprentice Program and continuing education classes.
