Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Hosts the Second Annual One Million Dollar Duck Race

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- For the second year in a row, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck (http://camppaquatuck.com/) will be hosting its One Million Dollar Duck Race (http://camppaquatucksmilliondollarduckrace.com/) on July 13 on 2 Chet Swezey Road in Center Moriches. The event is to help raise money to benefit the camp’s special-needs children (http://camppaquatuck.com/about-summer-camp-disabled-children.php).  
The Million Dollar Duck Race starts at 5 p.m. Each duck costs $10. The $1 million prize will be awarded to the first- and tenth-place ducks if they are one of the pre-selected ducks. Seven thousand small ducks will be available for sale.

General admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. Children’s admission includes a hot dog and soda. General admission will also include hayrides, bouncy rides, raffles and music.

The Million Dollar Duck Race follows the Annual Kaler’s Pond Duck Race, which starts at 4 p.m. Each duck is available for $100, with 250 ducks for sale. There will be a $10,000 prize for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place, if all 250 ducks are sold.  In the event all the ducks are not purchased, first prize will be split evenly between the winner and the camp.

Both races are part of the camp’s 44th Annual Family Style Duck Bar-B-Que and Duck Race.  Tickets are $30 for a duck dinner ($35 at the gate), $25 for a chicken dinner ($30 at the gate).  Lobster dinners are available (for pre-sale only) for $40. Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a resident summer camp designed for young people ages 6-21 with special needs (http://camppaquatuck.com/news/news-summer-camps-story78.php). Its mission is to help children and adults achieve equality, dignity, and maximum independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and education in a summertime environment. Throughout the program, campers participate in typical summer camp activities, such as arts and crafts, talent shows, cook-outs, swimming and boating.
