Black Creek Completes Video Visitation System at Newly-opened Douglas County Correctional Facility

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - June 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Black Creek Integrated Systems is pleased to announce the successful completion of its IP Visitor© video visitation system installation at the 1,448 bed Douglas County Adult Detention Facility, Douglasville, Georgia. The four-story, LEED-certified facility includes a state-of-the-art video visitation center in which family, friends and professional visitors can visit the incarcerated inmate population without setting a foot inside the detention center. The Visitation Center boasts both public and attorney video visitation stations, as well as provisions for a private family or wheelchair accessible visitation.  

The System incorporates over 30 public stations - including Black Creek’s trademarked "QuadPod" public visitation carrels - which provide the capability for 30 simultaneous visits in a relatively small enclosed space. Black Creek also installed over 100 wall-mounted and ruggedized inmate video visitation stations, which are
available for use within the Douglas County Detention Center. This includes a roll-around inmate video visitation station for use in its Super Max area and biometric fingerprint identification scanners.

The Douglas County Visitation Center will shortly expand its visitation services to include remote visitation sessions, which will be available to the public and professionals who would normally conduct visitations on-premise. This will allow for visitors to log in to the IP Web Visitor© System from their home or office and conduct live video conferences with members of the Douglas County inmate population.

The Douglas County facility also boasts a state-of-the-art touch-screen-based security control system. The Black Creek SuperDisplay® System includes ethernet-based locking, intercom, CCTV, card access, personal duress, intercommunication & paging, and utility control – all fully accessible and controllable from either the touchscreen workstations or from hand-held mobile personal detention assistants.
