Produced in California, using traditional family recipes, Dolce Mia’s natural soaps contain no harsh detergents or preservatives and are not tested on animals. Dolce Mia is headquartered in Sonoma County, California, north of San Francisco, in an area known for its farms and pastoral landscapes, small food producers & fine wines. About Jenny Mountjoy: Born in Chicago, Jenny was raised in Santa Barbara in the 1970’s. She recounts a groovy Californian surfer lifestyle that sounds like something out of the movies. Her father was a prominent restauranteur, and also held the lease on the town’s principal music venue, the Santa Barbara County Bowl. Jenny’s upbringing included lots of great food as well as front row seats to every rock and R & B show that came to town. By the time she went to college, Jenny was ready to leave the party lifestyle behind. She attended UC Santa Cruz, which at the time wasin its infancy, and as low-key a university as you could find. Graduating with a degree in Psychology, she went on to live and work in England at a fashion magazine, returning to work in the education department of the Boston Museum of Science. She received her Masters in Arts Education from Stanford in 1992 and worked briefly in a school in San Francisco before starting Dolce Mia in the basement of her San Francisco apartment. The first stores to every carry Dolce Mia products were in San Francisco and in Nantucket, Massachusetts, where the Mountjoys have a summer home. Today Jenny lives with her husband, two sons and five sheep in Occidental, California. Her work with Dolce Mia reflects her inspiring, charismatic personality, her Californian upbringing and her professional training in the arts. Jenny combines a refined sense of aesthetics with West Coast charm and originality, a deep-rooted modesty with a brilliant sense of humor and great friendliness, and a commitment to a well-balanced life.
