Commercial Real Estate Attorney Monica Owens Monica Owens brings 16 years of litigation experience to the firm. She previously represented clients in real estate and corporate transactions, as well as litigation involving insurance defense, pesticides and toxic torts. She also has served as an attorney for the Federal Aviation Administration in the Office of the Regional Counsel, Southern Region, where she prosecuted cases on behalf of the United States government for violations of security and flight regulations. Before joining Pursley Friese Torgrimson, Owens was a judicial staff attorney to Presiding Judge M. Yvette Miller and the late Judge Debra Halpern Bernes, both of the Georgia Court of Appeals. In 2004, she was appointed to serve as a hearing officer for the City of Atlanta Board of Taxicabs and Vehicles for Hire. Owens is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Bleckley Inn of Court, Gate City Bar Association, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. She earned her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Spelman College. Paralegal Kim Aaron Kim Aaron brings more than 15 years of legal assistance experience in general litigation to her paralegal role at Pursley Friese Torgrimson. Born and raised on the island of St. Croix, Aaron has supported legal casework in private law practices, governmental agencies and for Georgia-Pacific Corporation. She also worked with the Superior Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Aaron earned her master’s degree in legal studies from American Military University in West Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in information processing from Morris Brown College in Atlanta. She holds an ABA-accredited certification as a paralegal from The Paralegal Institute in St. Croix, and is certified by the National Association of Legal Assistants. Intern Rachel Neufeld Rachel Neufeld joins Pursley Friese Torgrimson as a legal intern. She is a candidate for juris doctor at Emory University School of Law, where she is a member of the Emory Corporate Law Society and Emory Sports and Entertainment Society. Neufeld earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
