WIFTA Launches 2013 PSA & Mentorship Programs

ATLANTA - June 7, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 WIFTA PSA and Mentorship Programs are revving up and the application period for both programs is now officially open! The nonprofit WIFTA will be producing a PSA this year for a nonprofit called 9 to 5 (http://9to5.org/), which is dedicated to helping low income women in the workplace to find work and fight for their rights. In case you are wondering, this is the organization on which the famed 80s movie Nine to Five starring Dolly Parton and Jane Fonda is based!

In addition to the PSA, WIFTA will also be shooting a promotional video to commemorate the 9 to 5's upcoming 40th anniversary! The PSA and promotional video shoots will provide an opportunity for WIFTA members who want more experience with production to obtain it and for the participants who want a mentor to find one because they will bee working with professionals who make TV / Film / Video projects day-in and day-out.

The crew call for the following positions is no open: Associate Producer, Line Producer, Production Coordinator, Production Assistant, Camera Operator, Assistant Camera Operator, Audio Mixer, Grip, Gaffer / Electrician, Hair, Makeup, Wardrobe & Production Designer.

Mentorship opportunities are now available. Areas in which mentorships are available are: Writing, Directing, Producing, Cinematography (DP) and Editing.

To apply:
- Send a resume & cover letter to PSA@WIFTA.org. In the letter, briefly explain (1) why you want to be a mentee to an industry professional, (2) how this position will benefit you and (3) how your experiences can impact the video.
- Put "9 to 5 Mentee - [Specific Mentee Area]" in the subject line.

NOTE: Applicants must be an active WIFTA member to participate as a crew member or to be a mentee.
