NAACP Executive & President of Maryland Family Alliance Square off on Faith & Politics Forum

DUMFRIES, Va. - June 7, 2013 - PRLog -- This week, Dr. Derek Grier, Senior Pastor of Grace Church in Dumfries, VA announced the re-launch of Both Sides Magazine and the launch of the Both Sides Forum Series.  The web-based magazine and the live forum tackle hot-button issues of the day while giving people the opportunity to think through how their positions line up with their faith.  

The inaugural forum will take place on June 27, 2013 at Grace Church.  Each forum will be moderated by Dr. Grier and will feature discussions with high profile leaders.  Hilary Shelton, Senior Vice President for Advocacy for The NAACP and Derek McCoy, President of the Maryland Family Alliance will answer the question, “Should the Church Get Out of Politics?”

Shelton and McCoy have penned opinion editorials that are featured in the June online edition of Both Sides Magazine at http://www.bothsidesmag.org.

“The forums and the magazine encourage people to think through what they believe,” said Dr. Grier, “As some attempt to marginalize people of faith, we want the thought provoking discussion to produce unity among the various parts of The Church.”
